Finally Catching Up...

I'm finally checking in and catching up. Thanksgiving took a lot out of me and then I was in the dr dealing with skin allergies. So here's what I've finished & what I'm working on!

1. Items for class - finished! No pics though, maybe I'll take one of my display on Sunday (my first class :) )

2. Stephanie's Capris - finished!! Again I forgot to take finished pics, so I hope Steph likes them. :)

3. Hat for me - Finished!! I turned it into an earwarmer instead and I much prefer it.

I did a knit 2, purl 2 pattern and then every other knit 2 is actually a right twist cable. I wish I had done it on solid color yarn, but this was left over freeby yarn.

4. Mittens for me - not done yet. I actually ran out of yarn 3 rows left in the thumb of the final mitten. I'm going to pick up some more yarn on Sunday so hopefully it'll be finished then.

5. Scarf for me - Finished!! I love the way this scarf turned out. So simple & pretty!

Now I have a bunch of new projects to start! :)

1. Afghan for my mom. I'm crocheting her a Blushing Grannies afghan for Christmas. 35 squares, each square involving 3 colors. Sigh. I will be very sick of red by the end of this.

2. Knit longies for Caymen. This will be my first ever knit pair of longies. I'm using the Freckle pattern and also some gorgeous custom yarn. This yarn is dyed by Stacy of Hearthfire Farms and I'm in love. I asked for a bright, girly rainbow and I certainly got it! In fact, the colorway is now named Rainbow Brite. :)

3. Dh wants me to make an afghan for his mom's birthday (Dec 31). I've yet to decide what I want to do....

In other great & wonderful news, I'm now an official Wigglebuns crocheter. I can crochet longies, shorties, skirties, & soakers. I will be taking my first orders of customs in late December, early January so look out everyone! :)

Busy Busy!

As you can see, I have a lot of projects currently going. I'm going to list them off so that everyone will know what I'm working on and when. I generally work on two projects at a time that way I'm not too bored. :)

1. Items for my class (done with hat and scarf, need to finish mittens)

2. Stephanie's capris (I intend to start on Monday, hope to be done the Friday before Thanksgiving)

3. Hat for me (will start after my items for class)

4. Mittens for me

5. Scarf for me

My scarf, hat, and mittens should only take 6 nights at most. Especially if I'm working on longies during the day. My goal is to get Stephanie's capris done before Thanksgiving week and only do personal knitting and crocheting from the Saturday before to the Sunday afterwards. I will be out of town Black Friday thru Sunday so very little work will get done then. I intend to pack pieces of an afghan (Christmas gift for my mom) and knit longies for Caymen as items to work on during that week and while I'm out of town. I want to have all of these other projects done before that. After returning, I will work on other customs, Christmas gifts, and a second hat for Josh (yep, he wants a non-work knit hat).

I am getting my financing in order to get lisenced for crocheted longies in the next week or so. I'm very excited and happy that this is coming together so neatly. I will also have the financing available to purchase the Freckle knit longie lisence and several other patterns to try out. I'm looking at the Hudson Hat, Ridinghood Sweater, Sleuthing Hoodie, and the several gorgeous patterns from Sweet Mama Small Sugar. :) I'd like to get lisenced for at least one other thing, but the money tree is limited.

In other new, Miss A's longies are finished! They are currently drying and I love them. I hope Miss A and her mama do also. :)

Update!

I'm still working on Miss A's longies. I hope to have them done sometime tomorrow and then I'll wash and hopefully send by the weekend. I think they are turning out beautifully.

Here is a picture of my daughter modeling her first hat by me! I knit this using the Ky Baby Knits Ear Cozy Hat Pattern and it's a bit big on Caymen, but still very gorgeous. The colorway is Fairyblue Dyes & Knits Peppermint Patty and the hat is part of a set with crochet longies.

I am officially the Sandusky Pat Catan's crochet instructor. I have 3 projects to make this week as part of my display (I'm doing a hat, scarf, and mittens) and I'm teaching the first three Sundays in December from 1:30-3:30. I'm very excited to start and teach others about crochet.

Knit Hat Complete!

I finished my very first knit project yesterday at class. The hat for Josh is done! It fits him well and is exactially what he wanted (which is always a good thing). It also helped me practice knitting in the round, which is how I'll knit longies, shorties, soakers, etc! I just casted on a Ky Baby Knit's Ear Cozy Hat for Caymen, which I hope to have done by the end of the week.

Crochet Longies & Knit Hats

It's been a crazy week. Josh has been on call and he's been getting called out a lot. Caymen is also in a mama stage. If she's awake, she wants to be held and entertained. So all of that, along with Halloween (our town did Trick or Treating last night) has made for a slow crochet and knit week. :( I have gotten some time today to work on projects and post here.

Miss A's longies are getting more and more beautiful every time I pick up the yarn. I find that this colorway isn't pooling very much at all, which is rare with crochet. There is a bit of stacking, but I don't find it to be horrible at all. This picture isn't the best, unfortunately it was not taken in natural light.

Yep, you are looking at my first ever knit project. A hat for Josh. It may not look like much, but this thing could be a skirt for Caymen....no a mini-dress! I love my husband dearly, but he has a huge head. I am knitting 8 inches before I even start the decreases for the hat and it is 26 1/2 inches around. So it is certainly a project. I hope to get it mostly finished in my knitting circle on Sunday.

Finished Longies & New WIP

This is a new work in progress I just started this weekend. Julibean's Anastacia colorway. It's working up nicely with crochet which is always a plus! :)

I just finished these for Caymen this morning! I love how they turned out and I hope they wear nicely for her.

Picture Re-Do

I just realized that the seam on those Marr Haven longies look weird in the pictures. I had the longies laying all wonky! Here is a better pic!
